Kinja'd!!!

I expect the occasional -20 windchill in January or maybe February.  This is March.  I’m so done with this winter.

The ski hill I patrol at generally closes after St Patrick’ s day. This is the most snow on the ground in March that I can remember for a long time.

A men to that! Good news is that this should be the last of it. It’ll warm up the next few days, and daylight savings starts next weekend - looking forward to sunsets after 7 pm again!

Yeah, about the same down here. We had several days in the mid-70s last week (lows in the high 50s) and now we’re 35 degrees lower overnight, along with those horrific tornadoes on the cold front. So in a roundabout way, the “cold” just killed a bunch of people, even if it wasn’t from hypothermia or exposure.

In Pittsburgh we can have pretty much any type of weather November - May.  Last year we had 70's in February and then snow flakes the last week of April.  We also haven’t had much of a fall or spring the past few years.

All winter we had maybe two dustings of snow that didn’t last longer than an afternoon. First day of March we get our first real snowfall. WTF, weather?  What gives?

Welcome to my life.  We have winter until like the first week in May, then it’s a jump straight to summer almost.

Last year was pretty nuts around here. We also had 70s in February and even had golf courses open that weekend, and the got an April snowstorm.

I’m just hoping the thaw comes quicker than last year. We had the coldest April on record last year. I remember repairing a water main break in the middle of April when the temperature was in single digits.

I’m glad I’m back to being a plant operator instead of a maintenance guy. I still spend more time than I like working outside in this crap, but at least I’m not in a wet, muddy hole.

It’s 2 out here  and my neighbor, who I already knew to be a dumbass, just walked outside in shorts.

Drove home in -10 last night from a funeral.  I don’t know what the windchill was because at this point I’m too numb for it to make a difference.  In two weeks we are supposed to have a couple of consecutive days with a high above 32 degrees and I’m looking forward to that like it’s a trip to Disneyland.

We’re supposed to make it into the 40's by Saturday.  I may wear shorts.

We get that sometimes too. Fall was about 8 days long this year, it went straight from summer to winter. Hopefully we get a real spring this year . Spring is my favorite season.

We had so much rain at the end of summer/fall we really couldn’t enjoy much of anything. At least snow doesn’t soak you and make your ground all mush instantly

Right? It’s freaking MARCH already!

In some respects, the cold doesn't bother me (and you would laugh at what's considered cold here in the southwest), it's the non-stop pendulum we've all endured this year. COLD! Warming up...yep, cold is done, spring is fi--COLD AGAIN ha ha you schmucks...warming back up, ok for reals this time, spring is--COLD! Got you again...but really this time, spri--NOPE!

I assure you the ground is plenty mushy from all that snow when it thaws.

Yeah, the back and forth stuff is brutal.

Somebody on FB linked an article from the LA times about how it’s been the coldest February anybody can remember ... with an average temperature of 61 degrees.  BOO-FREAKING-HOO!!!!

It’s supposed to get up in the 40's by Saturday. That’s going to feel glorious.

That is an unfortunate temperature. In Southern NM, I spent this past weekend getting the yards going for the year, as the spring weeds have sprouted, the plants are budding and even my Bermuda grass is showing sprigs of green. It was the annual spring pull weeds/trim bushes back/repair and adjust the sprinkler and drip systems/cut the grass back short and fertilized everything days on Sunday and Monday. I could’ve waited a few more weeks , but I’ve got houselopni k projects to start up soon again inside and I didn’t want to tear apart the living room/dining room area and then stop for a weekend to do the yard.

It’ll still get cold a few more times down here for a day or two, but otherwise lows in the 40s and highs and 70s are the norm for right now. Less fortunately , the March lion has showed signs of appearing. We haven’t had brown sky blocking out the sun and shut down the interstates for lack of visibility blowing dust days yet, but they’re coming. The afternoons are getting predictably windy.
